If you’re happy to be assigned to a default energy retailer, you can apply for connection through our online self-service portal ‘Connect & Manage My Gas’. Otherwise, you can contact an energy retailer of your choice and they'll request the connection on your behalf, or apply by submitting a paper application form.
How do I apply?
Once we have received a complete connection application, we will usually make an offer for connection within 10 business days, or let you know if we have more assessment work to do. The terms of this offer will depend on the site conditions and your intended gas usage. We might need to visit the site to provide you with an offer.
What happens next?
Subject to the Model Standing Offer for basic connection services, Jemena will endeavour to commence and complete the connection request within 20 business days of the offer being accepted and your retailer issuing the necessary service orders to us.
Connection typesFor most new and existing homes, we install pipes from our mains to the meter, and install the meter kit. You will need to talk to your licenced gasfitter or plumber to get appliances connected to the gas supply or contact one of our preferred Natural Gas Specialists.
The connection service will be determined by us based on information you provide, including information about conditions at the site, and the service you request. In some cases, connection to a path valve at the boundary of your property may be provided, or a meter only.
